When you think about the word evolve or evolving…you may think of science or in terms of physical changes that can take years to happen in nature, for example.
But, have you thought about yourself evolving…changing…emerging…making choices in life that move you in a more positive direction?
One way to evolve is to stretch. I don’t just mean practicing yoga, which is a great thing to do, but by stretching yourself and holding a vision of what is possible and how building positive emotions..kindness and compassion, for example can help you face challenges in life. What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger!
As a creative, I feel like evolving is what keeps me inspired and motivated. Collaborating with others can be a big help, too. As a songwriter, I need to be a good listener and accept my cowriter’s ideas, let the song evolve until it is the very best it can be.
In what ways do you want to evolve? What would your daily life look like if you made these positive changes?
Here are a few ideas that have worked for me…
- Think outside of the box. Don’t be afraid to explore an idea that is not the norm for you.
- Embrace collaboration on a project
- Let go of control and learn the beautiful art of allowing…allowing others to be themselves. For example, complete a task or project their own way without micromanaging them. (This is one of the hardest things to do for me!)
- Keep a journal of changes your are making in life, at work, or with your own creativity.
Find unique ways each day to practice the changes you want to see in yourself and begin to create the life you want.
