The largest provider of free oncology continuing medical education in the U.S. today announced its rebranding from Total Health Conferencing to Total Health, a change that reflects its commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional medical education.
Established as a medical information company that produces tailored content, courses, and conferences for oncology healthcare providers, Total Health is expanding its efforts to advance patient care with new products and services in partnership with pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies, patient advocacy organizations, and policy makers.
In addition, Total Health will broaden its offerings by adding new educational initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and access across the healthcare continuum.
“Remaining true to our highest ideal – that knowledge is power – these new initiatives aim to break down the silos that currently exist in oncology by uplifting unheard voices and convening under one common goal – to identity and eliminate disparities in care,” said Sarah Louden, Founder and Executive Director of Total Health.
To fuel the company’s efforts, Total Health is launching new educational programs geared toward engaging the oncology community and identifying singular actions for immediate impact, starting with a calendar of events in Memphis, Tennessee and South Florida.
These equity-focused events will kick off on March 3 with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion | Primary Care to Oncology – Conversations for Change conference at the Hyatt Centric Beale Street Hotel in Memphis.
The evening program will focus on developing strong relational patterns and pathways to encourage conversations about prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, bringing members of the primary-care community together with representatives of multidisciplinary-care teams in oncology.
“These meetings are intended to serve as a platform for dialogue with cancer-care champions so we can find effective ways to reach communities that have been disproportionately burdened by cancer and which demand fundamental change in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment,” added Louden.
To support the expanded programming and initiatives, Total Health has appointed two new executives to its leadership team: Sharon Gill as Head of Community Engagement and Franklin Libenson as Head of Business Initiatives.
A gifted leader and business strategist, Sharon Gill comes from a background of building purpose-driven organizations and mobilizing communities of care. A breast cancer survivor herself, Gill will lean into her own personal experience, as well as her passion and professional expertise, to activate the oncology community through initiatives geared toward progressing Total Health’s powerful cause.
With over 20 years of experience in the oncology field, Franklin Libenson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Total Health. His prior roles as vice president of global marketing and chief commercial officer at a leading molecular-diagnostics company have equipped him with the necessary skills to drive Total Health’s new business initiatives and expand its presence in the market.
