SKYGEN, the leading software as a service (SaaS) technology and third-party administration (TPA) services company for dental and vision benefits, announces the appointment of Jeff Spahr to Vice President, Vision Business. Spahr’s announcement comes as SKYGEN celebrates 30 years of innovation in dental and vision benefits management and administration and follows the successful launch of the company’s new vision app, signifying its commitment to fortifying its overall presence in the vision benefits management segment.
Steve Berryman, SKYGEN CEO, expressed his excitement about Spahr joining the team, stating, “Under Jeff’s leadership, SKYGEN is set to further advance its commitment to its vision business while maintaining the highest standards of client satisfaction with payer and managed care organization partners. With his in-depth understanding and expertise in the industry and shared commitment for excellence, we are confident that Jeff will steer our company toward a brighter future, setting new standards for success and growth.”
In his new role, Spahr is responsible for helping clients optimize the growth and performance of their vision business across Medicaid, Medicare and commercial segments. This includes identifying products, services and solutions that drive financial and operational performance while ensuring member, provider and client satisfaction.
With over 20 years of health plan and financial management leadership experience, Spahr is well-prepared to drive SKYGEN’s growth as a leading innovator and solutions partner for specialty benefits administration. In his previous role as Vice President, Specialty at Anthem Inc., he led strategic growth initiatives across 16 million specialty members, including dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary supplemental health and workers’ compensation services, as well as segment growth strategies from individual (under 65 and Medicare) to national accounts. Jeff holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from California State University, Chico.
“I look forward to applying my passion for using technology to improve care and the patient experience, as well as increasing access to quality health care, something that is in line with SKYGEN’s mission, vision and values,” Spahr said. “SKYGEN’s breadth of technologies, services and capabilities, not to mention its incredibly talented team, make them uniquely positioned to become not just any vision leader but the vision leader.”
