Executive IT leader brings deep experience enhancing technology and security for growing provider organizations

Sandhills Medical, a quality-award-winning Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in South Carolina, today announced the appointment of Sena Ocloo as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In the role, he will lead the organization’s technology strategy and oversee information systems, cybersecurity and data governance as Sandhills continues to prioritize high quality care and patient experience.

Ocloo brings extensive experience in healthcare information technology, with a strong track record of aligning IT strategy with broader clinical and organizational goals. His vision is to build a resilient, state-of-the-art technology environment at Sandhills — one grounded in strong security, modern infrastructure, comprehensive staff training, and operational efficiencies that allow clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

“While IT investments often happen behind the scenes, they directly impact patient care,” said Ocloo. “For instance, reliable connectivity is foundational to initiatives like digital check-in, tablet-based patient forms and real-time access to medical records — all of which influence how patients experience healthcare. I look forward to guiding Sandhills’ technology strategy as the organization grows.”

Ocloo joins Sandhills through a strategic partnership with Kintegra Health, where he continues to serve as CIO. One of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers on the Eastern Seaboard, Kintegra serves more than 108,000 patients across 17 North Carolina counties and is a trusted technology and operations partner to community health centers across the region. In his 13 years there, Ocloo has guided Kintegra through significant growth, infrastructure expansion, and evolving security demands, experience he now brings to Sandhills as it charts a similar path forward.

Sandhills Medical is rolling out a slate of technology improvements designed to better support clinicians, staff and patients, including new automation capabilities, next-generation wireless across clinics, and stronger redundancy for mission-critical systems. Early connectivity upgrades are already delivering measurable improvements.

“Expanding access to care is at the heart of everything we do, and modern, reliable technology is essential to delivering on that mission,” said Amanda Duke, CEO of Sandhills Medical. “Sena will be instrumental in helping us strengthen our infrastructure and build a top-notch internal team that enables us to better serve the communities that count on us.”
