Rommie Johnson Joins ACHC as Associate Program Director

Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a nonprofit accreditation organization committed to offering exceptional service and a collaborative accreditation experience, has hired Rommie Johnson, MPH, PMP, CHC, to serve as its associate program director. Johnson brings 10 years of experience in healthcare compliance, accreditation operations, and project management, as well as in business development with leading national accreditors of outpatient healthcare settings.

In his new role, Johnson will direct the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and Office-Based Surgery (OBS) programs at ACHC and manage the strategic and programmatic direction for ASC/OBS organizations seeking accreditation and certification.

“Rommie will be an invaluable addition to our program leadership team. His proven track record and ability to establish relationships with industry leaders makes him especially qualified to assume this position within ACHC,” said Patrick Horine, vice president, acute care services. “With his extensive experience in business management, we are confident he will strengthen our standards and provide us with fresh perspectives that will drive our growth and national presence.”

Previously, Johnson served as the associate director of business development for the Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program at The Joint Commission. In this role, he managed business development and strategic direction for the corporate segments within Ambulatory Care Services. His focus was on development of large ambulatory health care practices, surgery management firms and government-supported organizations.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the growth and success of ACHC’s ASC/OBS programs,” said Johnson. “These programs aim to provide accreditation and certification options aligned to the needs of organizations; I plan to build upon that integrity with a realistic, quality-driven approach. Those within ASC/OBS organizations can be confident in the collaborative educational process we deliver.”

Johnson earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology and Public Health – Epidemiology, respectively, from Loyola University Chicago.
