ReferWell, a digital health company specializing in personalized member engagement and point of care scheduling, today announced the appointment of Imad Ahmed in the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer (COO/CPO). With an extensive leadership background across payers, providers and healthcare technology companies, Ahmed brings to the company a proven track record of successfully scaling solutions that improve access, engagement and outcomes which will support ongoing efforts to innovate and expand.

In his new role, Ahmed will oversee ReferWell’s operations and product strategy, focusing on guiding the company as it evolves its offerings to meet the growing needs of healthcare payers and providers. By combining the COO and CPO roles, he will not only ensure that the products ReferWell is offering are correct for the market, but that they can be delivered on time and deliver on the promise of helping to get people to the doctor. With a deep understanding of the complexities of the healthcare ecosystem, Ahmed will also lead the company’s efforts to accelerate innovation, including AI initiatives, drive operational excellence, and improve overall efficiency.

Prior to joining ReferWell, Ahmed served in key leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group and Universal Health Services, where he launched new product lines and digital platforms that generated billions in revenue and improved care for millions of patients. More recently, he served as Interim CEO of Reflectica AI, an AI-native behavioral health platform, and on the Advisory Board of Prescient Healthcare.AI, advancing digital transformation and predictive analytics in value-based care.
