Paytient Adds Former Elevance Health Executive to Improve Certainty of Affordability

Paytient, the creator and leading provider of Health Payment Accounts (HPAs), is expanding its team of leaders with the addition of David Smith as Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships.

Prior to joining Paytient, David spent 20 years serving Elevance Health (formerly known as Anthem) as the Regional Vice President of State Affairs, where he managed governmental and regulatory affairs serving commercial, government business, pharmacy, and specialty lines of business for 14 states. David is a Washington University, St. Louis graduate working and residing in Columbia, MO.

As Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at Paytient, David collaborates closely with payors and other strategic partners, as well as government agencies, to ensure health plans are able to ensure the certainty of affordability relating to out-of-pocket expenses. 

David’s lifelong commitment to healthcare, experience, and relationships across relevant government agencies will accelerate Paytient’s expansion with the nation’s largest leading insurers, employers, and health systems.
