Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a nonprofit accreditation organization committed to offering exceptional service and a collaborative accreditation experience, has hired Joseph Coyne to serve as its Pharmacy Accreditation Program Director. Coyne brings decades of experience working in pharmacy operations, consulting and business development.
In his new role, Coyne will be responsible for leading and preserving the pharmacy program’s suite of services and distinctions designed specifically for individual pharmacy professional needs. He also will help establish industry standards, overseeing compliance with policies and procedures while identifying areas for improvement for overall organizational development efforts.
“My vision is to fashion this already exceptional program into the pinnacle of pharmacy accreditation,” said Coyne. “Through the continued refinement, expansion of offerings, meaningful synergy of laws, regulations and standards, collaboration with thought leaders, and the provision of sought after education, I envision this program continuing to evolve and strengthen as the gold standard of pharmacy accreditation.”
Most recently, Coyne served as the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Vice President of Supply Chain for Pinnacle Dermatology, where he dedicated himself to driving and maintaining its pharmacy program to ensure its effectiveness and to improve patient experience and safety. Prior to his time at Pinnacle Dermatology, he held director positions in the business and operations sectors and founded his own consulting business, Coyne Consulting LLC, providing his years of expertise within the healthcare industry to assist his clients.
“With Joseph as the newest addition to our senior management team, we have yet another opportunity to showcase our expertise and expand our first-class services to an even greater audience of pharmacy professionals,” said José Domingos, President and CEO of ACHC. “With Joseph’s talents and visionary guidance, we will continue to support our accredited pharmacies’ operations, their pursuit of improved efficiencies and quality improvement initiatives.”
Coyne earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and is certified as a sterile compounding pharmacist by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties.
