Ergonomic furniture can increase productivity, yet the primary reason why it’s utilized is due to the health benefits. One of the most common pieces of ergonomic furniture used is a standing desk; however, many don’t know how to use them correctly. Learn how to use a standing desk properly below. 

Switch Off Between Sitting and Standing

When people first obtain standing desks, they believe you must use it for long periods of time. However, standing for too long can cause lower backpain and other issues, but we all know sitting all day is bad for you too. Therefore, you need to alternate between standing and sitting throughout the workday. This means standing for at least 30 minutes each hour. 

Set the Desk at The Right Height

Standing posture is just as important as sitting. Another thing you need to do as you stand at your desk is to set it at the right height. You can tell the standing desk is at an appropriate height when it’s the same as your elbows at a 90-degree angle. You should also adjust your monitors so that you look at the top half of the screen. 

Stretch to Avoid Fatigue

While you stand up, it’s important to take time to stretch out your body and move around a bit. Perform stretches geared toward your neck and lower back because these two body parts are more prone to fatigue. 

Stand on A Matt
