Henderson Engineers, a national building systems design firm, proudly announces the appointment of Laura Longoria as outpatient practice director. Longoria is tasked with overseeing client experience, technical quality, innovation, business development, and employee engagement for the business unit focused on outpatient healthcare projects including ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, medtail clinics, pharmacies, and urgent care centers.
Working closely with sister company Henderson Building Solutions, a construction management and commissioning firm, Longoria will also help spearhead renovation projects involving the replacement and maintenance of existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure within outpatient facilities.
“Congratulations to Laura for this latest milestone in her distinguished career,” said Mark Chrisman, health sector executive at Henderson Engineers. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Laura since she joined our firm in 2005 and she has always demonstrated a passion for providing exceptional client experience and supporting innovative design solutions; most notably through her early and continued work with our design for manufacturing and assembly efforts. She has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the healthcare industry and has a strong team mentality that makes her the perfect candidate to lead one of our fastest growing practices.”
Based out of Henderson’s Dallas office, Longoria has held a series of progressively responsible roles in her 19-year career, most recently serving as design and construction director. Her resume spans major projects for both established and emerging industry heavyweights such as Walmart Health, HCA Healthcare, One Medical, Oak Street Health, Compass Surgical Partners, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
“As a people-first company, our team takes pride in positively impacting communities through the facilities we help bring to life,” said Longoria. “The healthcare industry is continually evolving, and I’m excited for this latest opportunity to continue making a difference for clients through innovative design solutions that enable exceptional experiences for patients and personnel.”
Longoria is an alum of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering.
