Founder and Producer Denetra Hampton has announced the expansion of her media platform, For Nurses By Nurses Productions, LLC. This platform has played a significant role in shaping the narrative of nursing through films and documentaries. The production company launched with its debut film, THE BLACK ANGELS: A NURSE’S STORY in 2018, and continued with THE YEAR OF THE NURSE AND MIDWIFE. Since then, it has produced films such as THE DIXIE 3: A STORY ON CIVIL RIGHTS IN NURSING and RACISM IN NURSING: THE AFRICAN AMERICAN NURSING EXPERIENCE.
The production company has launched its’ inaugural cinematic lecture titled, THE ICONIC GATHERING: THE POWER OF DIVERSE WOMEN, which will be screened at Christopher Newport University on February 6, 2026. The lecture brings together six iconic women, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Zora Neal Hurston, Mary McLeod Bethune and Mary Peake. A gathering that intersects lessons learned from women-led movements with the pressing issues of today.
Denetra states that “Expanding into cinematic lectures is essential to our storytelling mission.
