Dr. Natalie Gentile Appointed Allegheny County Medical Society Bulletin Medical Editor

The Allegheny County Medical Society (ACMS) has proudly appointed Natalie Gentile, MD, as medical editor of the ACMS Bulletin, the Society’s official publication serving physicians across Allegheny County.

“As a physician deeply engaged in medical writing and community education, I see this role as an extension of my commitment to clear, accurate, and responsible communication,” Dr. Gentile said. “In an era of information overload and misinformation, thoughtful medical writing matters.”

Dr. Gentile is a board-certified Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine physician focused on relationship-centered care, community engagement, and innovative primary care delivery. A Pittsburgh native, she trained at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, as well as the Mayo Clinic, before returning home to develop care models that emphasize accessibility, continuity, and whole-person health.

In 2019, Dr. Gentile founded Gentile Family Direct Primary Care, a direct primary care (DPC) practice designed to reduce administrative burden and prioritize meaningful physician–patient relationships. She later co-founded Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh, a physician-led management services organization supporting independently owned DPC practices throughout the region. Later came Rebel Wellness, Pittsburgh’s only woman-physician-owned lifestyle medicine studio in 2023.

Dr. Gentile will provide clinical and editorial leadership for the ACMS Bulletin, overseeing medical content to ensure accuracy, clarity and relevance for physicians navigating a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The ACMS Board of Directors appoints the medical editor, who serves a defined three-year term, with eligibility for reappointment.

“My goal is to help translate complex clinical issues into language that is rigorous, accessible, and grounded in evidence, serving our professional community and the public,” said Dr. Gentile. “I’m excited to collaborate with colleagues to highlight meaningful work, elevate diverse perspectives, and foster dialogue that supports excellent patient care and professional integrity.”
