Given that ThinkThroughTools’ core business for more than 25 years has been in the HRO (High Reliability Organization) sector of Air Medical Transport, we always maintain safety-centricity as priority one. Yet, for any healthcare business or organization, your Outreach too, must maintain safety as the foundation of your Outreach Operating System. This is your Outreach obligation, let no harm be done to all those in your orbit. Those who put trust in you and your entity.

Your Outreach safety culture and protocols must be standardized, habituated, documented and iterated. THE FOUNDATION OF ALL. Every department. Every function. Every minute. Every hour of every day, safety-centricity comes first. These practices and clarified behaviors are standardized throughout the organization, no matter what the function. Outreach Operators must be at the forefront of this. Safety is habituated. It’s the way individuals and groups operate reflexively. Does this sound like you and your organization? Hope so.

SAFETY-CENTRICITY DURING ALL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES – NONE OF THIS

Documentation, signage, messaging, rituals are ubiquitous to instruct, inform and direct. Safety-centricity is 365 24/7.

SOUNDING LIKE A BROKEN RECORD (Wait, “What is a record you ask?” Oops I am a boomer) SOUNDING LIKE A POOR WI-FI CONNECTION RE-BOOT OF A SONG

Your commitment is not about Annual Safety / AMRM (Air Medical Resource Management), CRM (Crew Resource Management) or stand downs. It’s not about quarterly reviews. The commitment to whatever you name your safety program is continuously coursing through all employees’ arteries. Not doing so will result in ERRORS OF CONSEQUENCE. Such errors can – in an instant – where information-flow is real-time and distributed through myriad channels that “never forget” – amplify and perpetuate negative perceptions.

As an Outreach Operator your behaviors, your communications and all your Outreach activities must habitually factor SAFETY-CENTRICITY. And remember, your first obligation to your organization is the safety of your customers, your staff and your actions. PREVENT THE DOING OF HARM.
