Hair Loss Prevention: 3 Things You Can Do

14

Is hair loss troubling you? Are you bald, balding, or worried about baldness? In modern times, going bald is no longer an ultimatum, and there are many preventative techniques you can take.

If you are concerned about hair loss, there are many steps you can take to ensure that you are able to potentially prevent hair loss, allowing you to keep your full head of hair for as long as possible.

We have listed the top 3 things you can do in the quest for hair loss prevention, so you can rest easy knowing baldness may not have to be the answer.

Diet and Medication

There are many clinically approved substances when it comes to hair loss prevention. Drugs such as finasteride and minoxidil are but a few of these. They both work as follows:

  • Finasteride hinders the hormone dihydrotestosterone
  • Minoxidil assists with the increase of blood flow, while also helping with the uptake of nutrients to hair follicles.

Both of these treatments may result in some hair regrowth too, but please be aware that they may include the potential risk of side-effects. These may include:

  • Finasteride could potentially lead to erectile dysfunction or a decrease in libido.
  • Minoxidil can result in skin irritation.

If you would prefer to not go down the prescription medication route, why not try vitamins and minerals instead? The main vitamins are as follows:

  • Vitamin D: this is related to alopecia.
  • Biotin: Biotin, which is also known as vitamin B7, has an association with fatty acid production.

Be Careful What You Apply To Your Hair

Some evidence has clearly shown that many shampoos, gels, and other cleaning and styling products can contribute to hair loss. The chemicals within these products remain on the scalp, becoming trapped by the follicles which ultimately results in a preventive process where hair is unable to grow from the surface. Always attempt to use products with fewer chemicals, and more natural ingredients. Your hair and scalp are sensitive, which is why using natural ingredients is the best route to take. Likewise, you must be careful in regard to what temperature of water you use when washing. Overly hot showers can result in damage to your scalp by removing it its natural oils, which are there to shield it from harm. This can result in dryness, inflammation and although there is no direct evidence that hair loss is caused by excess heat, it is probably best to protect your scalp, just to be safe.

Have a Hair Transplant

If the time has come where you think that none of the above could possibly save your hair from falling out, a hair transplant may be the right option for you. You don’t need to break the bank, and there are numerous options, such as a hair transplant in Turkey, that offer affordable options for your hair loss dilemma. A hair transplant involves taking follicles from a donor site and transplanting them to you. Once they have been grafted to your scalp, you can enjoy a natural looking, full head of hair once more.
