From Gaming to Healthcare: How Verifiable RNG Is Expanding Into Higher-Stakes Applications

Verifiable randomness has quietly become one of the most critical pieces of blockchain infrastructure, and there is enough data to support this assertion. Blockchain gaming alone reached an estimated $24 billion market value by Q4 2025, with much of the ecosystem relying on the assumption that outcomes cannot be manipulated. Yet without a trusted, cryptographically sound source of randomness, that notion falls apart fast. 

ARPA Network’s Randcast has emerged as one of the projects attempting to address that problem at the infrastructure layer. Already deployed across Ethereum, Optimism, Base, Taiko, Redstone, and BNB Smart Chain, Randcast provides decentralized applications with verifiable random number generation powered by threshold BLS signatures, reducing the risk of manipulation by any single participant. ARPA’s latest integrations suggest the protocol is positioning Randcast for a broader role beyond gaming.

Exploring Verifiable Systems in Health Data

One of the new collaborations pairs ARPA with NanoVita, a crypto-native protocol combining nanotechnology, AI-driven biological intelligence, and decentralized health data systems. The collaboration focuses on exploring how verifiable infrastructure can support transparency and integrity in environments handling sensitive information.

That challenge is becoming increasingly relevant. In 2025 alone, 710 major healthcare breaches were reported in the US. In the process, the protected health information of nearly 62 million was exposed and the average incident cost amounted to $7.42 million, making it the highest of any industry by far. 

Within that context, systems capable of providing tamper-resistant processing and independently verifiable outcomes could become increasingly valuable, particularly in decentralized health environments where centralized trust assumptions are minimized.

Provable Fairness and AI Provenance

ARPA’s second integration brings Randcast into the growing AI provenance sector through a collaboration with Numbers Protocol. Numbers Protocol focuses on verifying the origin and authenticity of digital content at a time when synthetic media and AI-generated assets are proliferating rapidly online.

Deepfake incidents have surged by more than 900% over the past several years, while analysts increasingly expect AI-generated content to account for a substantial share of internet media production moving forward. Many experts believe that by the end of the year, 90% of all online content could be AI manufactured.

Initial Randcast integrations will focus on applications such as on-chain games, including Quiz Night, where verifiable randomness directly supports fairness and integrity. But within provenance systems, RNG infrastructure can also serve a broader trust function by strengthening the transparency mechanisms underlying digital verification frameworks.

Expanding Into Enterprise Infrastructure

The third collaboration involves U2U Network, a L1 built around enterprise and real-world applications. The partnership aims to integrate Randcast’s verifiable RNG infrastructure into U2U’s broader institutional framework, where auditability and system transparency are becoming increasingly important requirements for enterprise blockchain adoption.

As the enterprise blockchain infrastructure continues to mature and expand by 280 times within the next 72 months, trust assumptions around data handling, execution integrity, and verifiable outcomes are likely to play a larger role in deployment decisions.

Beyond Gaming 

Taken together, the integrations point to a broader shift in how Randcast is being positioned within the blockchain stack. Rather than functioning solely as a gaming utility, the protocol is increasingly being deployed as a horizontal trust layer capable of supporting applications across AI, health systems, enterprise infrastructure, and other emerging sectors where verifiable execution matters. As blockchain applications continue moving into higher-stakes environments, infrastructure designed around transparency and cryptographic verification may become less of a niche feature and more of a baseline requirement.
