Facing personal insecurities can lay the groundwork for building confidence and inspiring others.

Luisa Guzman, a sophomore exercise science student at Cedarville University, transformed her insecurities into a thriving online personal training business designed to help women gain confidence, improve mental health and achieve fitness goals.

After graduating from high school, Guzman, originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, attended the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hudson, Florida. From her experience in Florida, she felt called to complete her education at Cedarville University.

Now, one year later, Guzman has launched her one-on-one online personal training business, Fit and Confident. By crafting personalized nutrition plans, workout programs and habit building routines and scheduling weekly accountability check-ins, Guzman is helping women make their health goals a reality.

“As a fitness coach, prioritizing empathy, consistency, simplicity and education is key to helping my clients reach their goals,” said Guzman. “I focus on sustainable, long-term goals rather than quick fixes, all while holding clients accountable with compassion.”

Guzman first discovered her love for fitness by playing soccer in middle school. Quickly becoming a standout player on the field, she knew that proper physical and mental health were keys to her success and wanted to dedicate her life to helping others achieve their full potential.

It wasn’t always easy for Guzman. She questioned herself and struggled with self-confidence after facing ridicule for her athletic performance, bringing on deep insecurities about her value and worth. However, motivated to regain her self-worth, Guzman bought a gym membership and began pouring her efforts into physical and mental strength.

Now, with over six years of bodybuilding experience, Guzman is empowering dozens of clients to discover the same confidence she fought hard to find.

“One of my clients had never lifted prior to working with me,” said Guzman. “I built a nutrition plan and workout program tailored to her needs, and she gained four pounds of lean muscle mass. Seeing these results helped her to understand that exercising can also drastically improve mental wellbeing. Client success stories like hers makes it all worth it.”

As Guzman builds her clientele, she aims to empower women to make a positive impact on the fitness community and glorify God with their health. Guzman’s business, Fit and Confident, is proof that facing our deepest hurts can inspire others to become the best versions of themselves.
